Youth correctional employee arrested for DUI

On September 3, 2020, PCSO deputies arrested a contracted youth correctionalAlexis Wilson employee with the Department of Juvenile Justice, Alexis Jemille Wilson (45 years-old) for DUI (M1).

Wilson was driving a gray Ford Fusion near the intersection of Highway 17-92 and Johnson Avenue East in Haines City when a Haines City Police Department officer observed the Fusion, which had a flat front tire, driving erratic and attempting to pass a vehicle in front of it. The HCPD officer stopped Wilson, and according to the affidavit, advised Wilson “looked confused and disoriented.” The officer also smelled a strong odor of alcohol. At that time, the officer requested assistance from PCSO.

A PCSO Traffic Unit deputy responded, assumed the investigation, and determined Wilson was impaired. She was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. Wilson’s BAC was .166 and .168, twice the legal limit (which is .08).

Wilson is employed by True Core Behavioral Solutions as a contracted youth correctional employee with the Department of Juvenile Justice at the Orlando Youth Academy.

“It is imperative that individuals who work with at risk youth – trying to get them back on the straight and narrow – those employees must set a positive example. Drinking and driving is the complete opposite of a positive example. There is no excuse for drunk driving. It puts your life and the lives of those on the road at risk.” – Grady Judd, Sheriff
